These paintings are much larger and more time consuming than most of my other work. Everything changes when working on a larger scale, from the brush stroke to what actually goes into it. Compared to the smaller work, these paintings are more of an accumulation of ideas and gestures that remain on the canvas. They document time for me and show me where I have been.
