This series of paintings was completed during the summer of 2002 in Kemerovo, Russia, which is located in central Siberia. These small watercolors are from the dacha (country house) of my wife's family and from the balconies of their home. As the series progressed and I became more familiar with the landscape, I tried to break the compositions down into simpler abstractions. The paintings are 7 1/2 X 10 in. (19 X 25.4 cm) and need to be framed under glass.
